Drop in an STL, OBJ or native STEP / IGES file and the estimator reads its volume, shape complexity and size — CAD solids are measured exactly — then computes CNC mold machining time and per-part cost against your material, hardness, finish and quantity. A firm, engineer-reviewed quote follows within 48 hours.
How this is built & what it isn't. Volume, surface area and a sphericity-based complexity score are read from your mesh; CNC mold time is estimated from cavity volume (roughing) and finished surface area × complexity (finishing), then priced with material, hardness, finish and cavity count. It assumes a watertight mesh and typical geometry — undercuts, inserts, tight tolerances and true wall thickness shift the real number. Nothing here is a binding offer; the 48-hour engineer quote is.
The estimator computes real part volume and a shape-complexity score from your geometry — not a guess from a bounding box — so thin, convoluted parts price differently from simple blocks.
Roughing time scales with the material removed for each cavity; finishing scales with finished surface area and detail. That's where mold cost really comes from — so that's what we estimate.
The same team that prices your part cuts the mold, molds it and tests it — no broker margin, and DFM feedback comes with every firm quote.
